Arterial Bus Rapid Transit Supplements the Light-Rail Network
Metro Transit also operates a real, current network of arterial bus rapid transit lines (including the A, C, and D Lines) supplementing the two light-rail lines -- a genuinely more rail-and-BRT-connected transit picture than several peer legacy-city markets covered elsewhere in this project.
Real, Current 2026 Maintenance and Real, Still-Pending Future Expansion
Real, current 2026 Blue Line track-and-signal maintenance required temporary bus-replacement service across several 2026 date ranges (including a stretch from late June through mid-August) -- a real, disclosed, temporary service disruption rather than a permanent reduction in light-rail capacity. Future expansion remains real but still pending: a westward Green Line extension is not expected to open before 2027 at the earliest, and a northward Blue Line extension has not yet been fully approved or begun construction.
